Passion Sparked From Early Days

I first came upon Applied Kinesiology (AK) at a young age, which sparked my passion for health and Integrative Medicine. At age 7 I was diagnosed with life-threatening type 1 diabetes. As the years passed my parents and I struggled to maintain tight blood sugar control and despite following the traditional medical model the blood sugars remained stubbornly high. I was generally low on energy and feeling unwell so my parents decided to take me to an Applied Kinesiologist, which transformed my life, my parents life and how I viewed health and disease.
The Kinesiologist recommended a specific nutrition and lifestyle strategy for me and within days my blood sugar levels stabilised and within a few weeks my insulin requirement dropped. I felt great, full of energy and had my eyes opened to the powerful influence nutrition and lifestyle play in creating health.

I studied Biomedical Science at the National University of Ireland in Galway determined to understand the mechanisms by which the body operates to achieve health and followed this up with a Master’s degree in Translational Medicine at University College Dublin; specialising in the study of inflammation, immunology and chronic disease.
Dissatisfied with the limitations of the standard medical approach I began studying with the International College of Applied Kinesiology (ICAK) to become a certified Professional Applied Kinesiologist. I have since undertaken further training in Psychological Kinesiology (Psych-K) and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP). I am currently expanding the scope of my practice by continuing to study Personalised Nutrition & Functional Medicine.

I enjoy treating a range of clients from those with chronic health conditions like IBS, Crohn’s disease, psoriasis, chronic fatigue syndrome, autoimmune and digestive problems as well as those who want to improve their overall health, performance and energy levels.

My Approach

My approach integrates the two powerful systems of Applied Kinesiology (AK) and Functional Medicine. Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a method of diagnosis using manual muscle testing to determine the state of the body. It integrates elements of Chiropractic, Osteopathic, Traditional Chinese and Nutritional Medicine to reveal how the different systems of the body are performing.
Functional Medicine looks at the interactions among genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors that can influence long-term health and complex, chronic disease. This allows me to test for food sensitivities, impaired detoxification, inflammation and hormone imbalances. By combining these two systems a unique, targeted nutritional and lifestyle strategy can be created for each client that supports their unique expression of health and vitality.
